Penguin watching
Activity description
Our adventure begins at the city’s tourist pier. We will take National Route No. 3 and, after a few kilometers and a bit of local history, we will enter Provincial Route “J” until reaching Puerto Almanza, a fishing village located 70 km from Ushuaia.
From there, we will board personalized boats and sail to Martillo Island, home of the famous penguin colony, where we will enjoy a unique wildlife experience observing Gentoo and Magellanic penguins. We will pass through Guaraní Pass, where we may also spot sea lions, cormorants, geese, and seagulls.
After approximately 1.5 hours of navigation through lesser-explored areas of the Beagle Channel, we will return to Puerto Almanza, where we disembark with the option to enjoy delicious king crab or the catch of the day, before heading back to the city.
