Penguin Colony Trek
Activity description
Are you ready for a unique experience with penguins? We invite you to join this exclusive excursion where you can walk alongside them for one hour with a specialized guide who will share fascinating insights about the lives of these beautiful creatures.
After checking in at our office at the tourist pier (410 Av. Prefectura Naval), we will begin our journey toward Martillo Island via National Route No. 3. Along the way, we’ll appreciate the region’s lush vegetation, including Lenga and Coihue forests, peat bogs, and mountains. We will then take Supplementary Route J, venturing deeper into the woods until we reach the embarkation point where the true adventure begins.
Once there, we will board a semi-rigid Zodiac boat for a 15-minute ride to the island. We will spend one hour walking through the Gentoo and Magellanic penguin colonies with our guide. Finally, we’ll head back to the city of Ushuaia, taking in a warm and scenic sunset on the return trip.
