Helicopter overflight

We invite you to experience the city from a different perspective, flying above to admire the best sights of Ushuaia and its surroundings. Below are the available options:

7-minute flight: We will see the Beagle Channel, the Andes mountain range, Martial Glacier, Mount Cinco Hermanos, the western face of the iconic Mount Olivia, and Playa Larga. You will also observe the city in this unique setting, including the downtown area with its characteristic buildings such as the old prison (today the Maritime and Presidio Museum), the local port, and the Government House.

15-minute flight: To begin our adventure, we will pick you up from your accommodation and head to the aeroclub, where the helicopter will take off. We will fly northeast over iconic landmarks such as Ushuaia Bay and the port, the former prison (now the Ushuaia Maritime and Presidio Museum), and the Government House. We will observe the western face of Mount Olivia, the peak of Mount Cinco Hermanos, and Playa Larga. Then we will enter the Olivia River Valley, flying over the ancient Tierra Mayor Valley and its peat bogs. Further along, we will see the stunning Esmeralda Lagoon, known for its striking color, located below the Ojo del Albino Glacier and Paso Beban Glacier. Opposite, we will also see Turquesa Lagoon, named for the mineral tones from glacial meltwater.

30-minute flight: We will begin by picking you up from your accommodation and heading to the aeroclub for takeoff. We will fly toward Mount Susana and along the southern coast of Tierra del Fuego National Park, covering its main highlights. From the western border with Chile, it is possible to photograph the glacier visible in Yendegaia Bay. Continuing east, we will see Chile’s Hoste Island, Murray Channel leading toward Cape Horn, Puerto Navarino, Ushuaia International Airport, Bridges Islands, and various developments along both shores of the Beagle Channel, until reaching Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, where some of the best aerial photos can be taken. Finally, we return to the departure point overflying the city.
